Further to our conversation regarding my mum’s Review, I thought I would document a few of the points we discussed regarding my mother’s care package with Nightingale.  

As a family we are convinced the only reason our mother is able to stay in her own home is because of the outstanding support provided by the whole Care Team at Nightingale.

It would be wrong to single out individual Carers as everyone who has responsibility for my mother’s package is outstanding.

Nightingale offer a level of a support which goes beyond profession services. The Carers genuinely love their work and we as a family have observed the level of interaction between them and my mum. They are considerate, empathetic and empowering. 

I appreciate the many ways the Carers respect my mum’s autonomy and self dignity. If my mum, for example, wants to have her breakfast and go back to bed, then the girls encourage my mother to make her own life choices. They see their role as facilitators and not the author of my mum’s daily life.

Contacting the office at Nightingale is always a pleasure. They know us by name and are fully aware of our mother’s Care Package.

Recents changes in my mum’s medication were handled with seamless attention which would have been a credit in any professional medical setting. 

Lydia herself is an excellent ambassador for Nightingale.  She has a wealth of experience and is happy to offer suggestions on ways my mum can live with self determination and dignity.  

We truly appreciate the way our mother is supported and consider her blessed to have Nightingale as her daily carers.  They provide a first-class service.
